Finacea Drug Interactions

Finacea® (azelaic acid gel) is a prescription rosacea medication that is applied to the skin. Significant drug interactions between Finacea and other medications are unlikely to occur.

Although Finacea is typically a gentle rosacea medication, it can be irritating to the skin for some people, especially at first (see Finacea Side Effects). Use caution when combining Finacea with other skin medications or products that are irritating to the skin, as this could worsen any irritation that occurs.

In fact, you may have to temporarily stop using some skin products during treatment with Finacea, so make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other skin products you might be using (including sunscreen, cleansers, moisturizers, cosmetics, etc.).

Although Finacea is unlikely to interact seriously with other medications, it is possible that there are currently unknown drug interactions that are yet to be discovered. Therefore, make sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to you.
