Metrogel for Rosacea

If you have rosacea, Metrogel® (metronidazole gel) may help improve this skin condition. This prescription medicine is approved to treat the bumps and pimples caused by rosacea. It may also help with associated redness or dryness.

Rosacea is a long-term (chronic) disease that affects the skin and sometimes the eyes. It causes redness, pimples, and, in advanced stages, thickened skin. It typically affects the face, but may also affect other areas of the upper body.

When using Metrogel for rosacea treatment, apply the gel on the affected areas of the skin once or twice daily, depending on the strength of the medicine you are using. This medication is only approved for use in adults age 18 and older.
