Oracea® (doxycycline) is a prescription medicine approved for the treatment of rosacea. It is not approved to treat redness due to the condition but can be used for treating the acne-like bumps and blemishes (known as inflammatory lesions) associated with rosacea.
 
Oracea comes in capsule form and is typically taken once daily. While most people tolerate this medication well, potential side effects include sore nose and throat, diarrhea, and high blood pressure.
